He is only a year old, but a baby cook is already attracting the masses on social media, despite himself.
More than a million people follow the culinary adventures of “Kobe Eats” on Instagram.
Chef Kobe likes to “cook, eat and explore the kitchen,” the toddler’s profile reads.
On the latter, there are several videos in which we see the toddler contribute to the preparation of dishes, such as macaroni and cheese.
It was the child’s mother, Ashley Wian, who first filmed her son in order to share the videos with his family and friends.
“Cooking is just one of the practical things Kobe does at home,” Wian said in an interview with CNN. He has so much fun doing these things and a very lively personality.”
Ashley Wian explains that she created the Instagram page in February. By that time, about 200 Internet users had subscribed to it, she said. In April, the number skyrocketed to 100, 200 and 500,000 subscriptions. An unexpected phenomenon to say the least.
The baby’s father, Kyle, is glad to know that all these people are amused by the child.
“It gives us a certain feeling that you do something good as parents when you know that it manages to make thousands of people smile than by laughing,” says the mother.
The couple is also happy that the videos help other parents to get together as a family in the kitchen to share these moments.
Curious, Kobe explores new ingredients, new textures, and learns basic skills, parents agree.
“He’s honed his motor skills a lot by helping me. Of course, it’s a lot of damage, but that’s it. Damage is damage. It’s getting cleaned up. Memories will stay forever,” says Ashley Wian.
His favorite dish? Anything that contains cheese! the mother laughs.
